Julia Child was a world-famous chef, author, and television personality. She is best known for her work in introducing French cuisine to the American public.

In 1963, Julia debuted her first television show, The French Chef. The show was an instant hit with viewers and ran for more than 10 years. In addition to teaching viewers how to cook French food, Julia also used her platform to advocate for better food policy in the United States. She was a strong supporter of mandatory nutrition labeling on food products and lobbied hard for stricter food safety regulations.
Julia continued to write cookbooks and host television shows until her retirement in 1999. She died in 2004 at the age of 91. In 2012, she was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame.
